Priceless Warhol Collection Stolen From Private Residence

September 12, 2009

California (ChattahBox) – A private owner in Los Angeles has had a multi-million dollar art collection, painted by the legendary pop art painter Andy Warhol, stolen from their home.

The collection was taken from the home of Richard Weisman, an avid collector who had several collections by the artist, including a portrait of himself that Warhol did in the late 70’s. That was taken in the heist.

Strangely, only one collection, besides the Weisman portrait, seems to have been targeted. It contained images of famous athletes, such as Muhammad Ali and Dorothy Hamill.

Ten were taken in all, but several other multi-million dollar art collections were left at the scene, untouched.

Police are unsure as to why this specific collection was chosen.

Officials are offering a $1 million dollar reward for any information that leads to the safe return of these priceless art pieces, or the arrest of the suspect.
