GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann: Obama Could Starve Us

September 16, 2009

(ChattahBox)— Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is once again making outrageous statements not grounded in reality, or at least not in the reality based universe most of us live in. While speaking on the House floor Monday evening, Bachman suggested that President Obama had plans to withhold food from Americans.

Michele Bachman is known for her Congressional comedic stylings, but suggesting that the President of the United States has plans to starve us all is, well crazy.

During her Monday night speech she began warning of the consequences of the Obama administration’s plans to “effectively nationalize energy.” She said that Americans would soon be shivering in their homes in the winter with their thermostats set at 55 degrees, or sweltering in blistering heat without air conditioning, as a result of Obama’s takeover.

Then Rep. Bachman veered into her not quite sane allegations:

“President Obama said we can’t eat as much food as we want and think the rest of the world will be okay about that — as if that matters to freedom-loving Americans,” said Bachmann. “Well, we just heard last week that the Federal Government now under the Obama administration is calling for a re-ordering of America’s food supply. What’s that going to mean? Now will the White House decide how many calories we consume, or what types of food we consume?”

Addressing Rep. Steve King (R-IA), Bachman said:

“You’re from an agriculture State, I’m from an agriculture state. My farmers are very concerned about this.”

See Below for a few examples of additional Bachman kookiness:

“I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us, having a revolution every now and then is a good thing.”

Bachman recently called on her fellow conservatives to fight Obama’s health care reform by slitting their wrists:

“What we have to do today is make a covenant to slit our wrists, be blood brothers on this thing,” said Bachmann. “This will not pass. We will do whatever it takes to make sure this doesn’t pass.”

Rep. Bachman warned of the Obama administration’s plan to create re-education camps for young people:

“I believe that there is a very strong chance that we will see that young people will be put into mandatory service. And the real concerns is that there are provisions for what I would call re-education camps for young people, where young people have to go and get trained in a philosophy that the government puts forward and then they have to go to work in some of these politically correct forums.”

Bachman’s head could benefit from a diet, obviously. Anyone who’s that fatheaded needs some kind of treatment.

Obama is doing a horrible job she is correct about that. The problem with the people posting on this web site agree with Obama. US is becoming a socialist country but that is what the people want. They think the Government is here to take care of people. People today just want a hand out. Today it is free medical, tomorrow it will be free college. I just gave a idea to preach about later FREE College that is what the people want.

Here’s the thing. Whether you are Republican or Democrat, what you have to keep in mind is that the government, from President on down the food chain, depend on our tax money to keep things rolling. The working-class poor are supporting every politician in Washington, and every paid employee of the government. I don’ t have a problem with that. I have a problem with Americans complaining that people are expecting hand-outs from this government by expecting access to health care and good education. I’ve worked all my life, paid into the Social Security system since I first began working, and now I’m considered a parasite because I have the audacity to expect a modest check from that fund every month. You scare everyone with your talk of “death panels.” How about (Republican) Jan Brewer in Arizona refusing to fund organ transplant surgeries. Isn’t she just a one-man Death Panel? If they can’t pay for it themselves, let ’em die. Yeah…the Republicans have all the right answers. In a pig’s ass they do.
