Washington Shooter’s Family Knew He Was Planning Murders, Did Nothing

December 3, 2009

Washington (ChattahBox) – A witness has told police that Maurice Clemmons, the man who shot and killed four officers, told his friends and family at Thanksgiving dinner that he was going to kill police, schoolchildren, and ‘as many people as he could at an intersection’.

After Clemmons made this statement, and several others through the night, not one person contacted police, despite the fact that he had been released from prison only the day before.

When Clemmons returned to his aunts house after being shot by one of the officers he killed, his family members dressed the wound, gave him a cellphone, and helped him get transportation, even though he told them he was going to start shooting again as soon as he was healed.

Now, two friends of Clemmons who are believed to have rendered unspecified criminal assistance have been arraigned, and several of those present that night, and the day of the shooting, are facing criminal charges.

Every new detail of this story becomes more and more disgusting. I cannot for a moment understand why anyone would help Clemmons, family or not.

The idea that they actually assisted him when they knew that he was going to be killing innocent people, killing children shows that every single one of them deserves to go to prison. I just wish that Clemmons was still alive to go with them, and rot behind bars.
