Limbaugh: Obama ‘Raping’ Banks Because of ‘Class Envy’
January 22, 2010
(ChattahBox)—Rush Limbaugh responded to President Obama’s new proposals today to curb the excesses of Wall Street’s big banks, by imposing restrictions on risky hedge fund investments. In his typical offensive bloviating, Limbaugh declared that Obama’s new regulations on banks were the equivalent of a violent sexual assault.
During Limbaugh’s talk radio show, which he uses to attack President Obama on a daily basis, advance radical right-wing policies and in the process manages to offend just about everyone; he declared that Obama’s proposed restrictions on big banks would lead us towards a depression. Where has the bombastic Limbaugh been during the last few years, when years of deregulation under the Bush administration led to the near collapse of our entire economy?
LIMBAUGH: “And now Obama is taking further aim at the economy. Mr. Depression— He is attacking the banks all over again, and he’s doing it because the polling data he has suggests that the public is still mad at Wall Street, still mad at banks, still mad at all these bonuses. So, it’s pure class envy. It’s an attempt to revive his poll numbers and in the process he’s taking yet another swing at capitalism. And it’s totally taking this country towards depression. He’s not cracking down on the banks folks. He’s raping them.”
