‘Proud Racist’ Against ‘Illegals’ Wants ‘to Puke’
January 26, 2010
(ChattahBox)—A Santa Clarita, California Republican councilman spoke at a recent gathering of anti-immigration groups and did his part to ratchet up the nativist hate, referring to himself as a “proud racist,” while he blamed the “illegals” for all the ills of society, including the national deficit and small business failures. His vitriolic remarks drew criticism, as beyond the pale for an elected official.
But Bob Kellar, the very proud racist councilman makes no apologies for his hate-mongering, saying his remarks were an expression of his frustration with illegal immigration. And he assured his constituents and critics that he doesn’t hate nonwhites. “It doesn’t mean I’m going to saddle up the horses at midnight,” he said. Good to know.
Councilman Bob Kellar was invited to speak before an anti-immigration rally on Jan. 16, which was attended by several militant groups, including the Santa Clarita Valley Independent Minutemen, the Santa Clarita Tea Party and Save Our State; an organization designated by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a hate group.
During his angry and heated speech, Kellar played to the teabag crowd, invoking the teapartier’s rallying call of “taking our country back.” Kellar also used the phrase of Teddy Roosevelt, “one flag one language.” According to the proud hate-monger, his anti-immigration rhetoric sets him apart as a true American:
“You know what? If we would just deal with the illegals we wouldn’t have a deficit in the state of California.” … Railing against political correctness Kellar said, “I want to puke, deal with the issue by golly.”
“We haven’t even touched on the illegal issue. It’s huge and we have got to wake up America. And I know you guys are engaged and you understand, but I’m telling you this is serious and if I sound like a radical: Thank you I consider that a compliment.”
“Teddy Roosevelt was right, “one flag one language.” I said to council members: “Folks this is important.” And you know, the only thing I heard back from a couple of people, that you sounded like a racist. I said that’s good if that’s what you happen to think I am because, I happen to believe in America. I’m a proud racist. You’re darn right I am.”
