February 11, 2010

(ChattahBox)—-CNN is confirming that former President Bill Clinton has been transported to Columbia Presbyterian hospital in New York suffering from chest pains. Few details are available at this time. Clinton had undergone quadruple-bypass surgery in 2004.

Clinton just recently made a trip to the earthquake ravaged country of Haiti, in his role as a special envoy to the United Nations. His wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was attending a meeting in Washington, DC during the last hour. It’s not known if she has since left DC.

Clinton’s spokesman just issued a statement saying that the former president experienced chest discomfort and after visiting with his cardiologist, he underwent a procedure, in which two stents were placed in one of his coronary arteries. Clinton is now recovering at Columbia Presbyterian hospital.

(Update: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is now on her way to New York City to be by her husband’s side.
