Poll: The More America Sees of Sarah Palin The Less They Like Her
February 11, 2010
(ChattahBox)—-A new Washington Post-ABC poll shows that Palin’s increased visibility of late, with her new role as a Fox News contributor and high-profile speaking engagements, such as appearing as the keynote speaker for the Tea Party Convention, has worked against her. The more people see of the divisive, palm reading former half-term governor of Alaska the less they like her.
According to the poll results, only 37 percent of all Americans polled have a favorable view of Palin, which is the lowest it has been since 2008. And a majority of the public at 55 percent, hold an unfavorable view of her. Additionally, a whopping 70 percent of all those polled believe Palin is not qualified to be president, which is up from 60 percent in a November survey. “Although Palin is a tea party favorite,” says the Post, “her potential as a presidential hopeful takes a severe hit in the survey.”
And even among conservative Republicans, a clear majority of 55 percent believe Sarah Palin is not qualified to be president of the United States. This is a stunning change, since last fall when 66 percent of conservatives believes she was qualified. Among Independents, only 29 percent believe Palin is presidential material.
And among all Republicans polled, only 37 percent hold a “strongly favorable” opinion of Palin.
These latest poll results are in line with a CBC poll conducted last month, which found that 71 percent of all those polled say they don’t want the former Republican vice presidential nominee to run for president.
