Scottish Terrier Sadie Best in Show With ‘Total Package’
February 17, 2010
(ChattahBox)—-During the final rounds of the Westminster Kennel Club championship, Sadie, a midnight black and energetic Scottish Terrier beat out the other top contenders with her canine qualities of breeding standards and doggie confidence. The judges found that Sadie’s enticing Scottie appearance gave her “the total package” and awarded her the coveted prize of Best in Show.
Sadie, aka, Ch. Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot prevailed over her competition of a toy Poodle, a Puli, a Whippet and a Brittany. The Westminster Kennel Club judges were enamored with Sadie’s traditional Scottie look. “This is the complete dog … That’s what you want a Scottie to look like,” said one of the judges.
Sadie entered the dog show as the clear favorite, even among oddsmakers. She also captured the title of the best dog among the terrier group; a title she also won last year.
Terriers like Sadie have a knack for catching the eye of the dog show judges. Terriers have won nearly half the events, since the Westminster Kennel Club was formed.
Sadie made it to last years Best in Show round, but she was beat out by Stump, a wily 10-year-old Sussex Spaniel.
