Trial Starts In One-Year-Old’s Cult Starvation Case
February 23, 2010
The cult, 1 Mind Ministries, consisted of a small group living in an apartment under a fanatic and delusional leader, including Queen Antoinette, her daughter, Trevia Williams, and Marcus Cobbs.
Ria Ramkissoon, the teenage mother of one-year-old Javon, originally came to 1 Mind Ministries after she was told she would not have to work or go to school, and that she could become a Christian.
Antoinette allegedly didn’t like the toddler, and frequently referred to him as being possessed by a rebellious demonic spirit.
One night, Javon did not say ‘Amen’ before a meal, and becoming enraged, Antoinette ordered her cult to refuse him food until he did.
The mother, who has plead guilty to child abuse in a plea deal against the others, did nothing to feed or protect her son.
He was eventually taken from her Ramkissoon by the others, and given to Williams. He died while in her ‘care’.
The cult members allegedly prayed for his resurrection, and then tried to hide the body in a hotel room in a suitcase.
Ramkissoon’s charges will be dropped if he son does happen to come back to life.
The other three are currently at trial, each representing themselves.
