IRS Widow To Sue Pilot-Suicide Widow For Negligence
February 25, 2010
Texas (ChattahBox) – The widow of the man who flew his private plane into an IRS building as a means of revenge against the government agency is suing his wife for negligence.
According to the complaint, Valerie Hunter (wife of Vernon Hunter) believes that Sheryl Stack (wife of Joseph “Joe” Stack III) should have known of her husband’s mental state.
She is claiming in her suit that Stack should have gone to the police to warn of the possibility of an attack.
“Stack was threatened enough by Joseph Stack that she took her daughter and stayed at a hotel the night before the plane crash. [She] owed a duty to exercise reasonable care to avoid a foreseeable risk of injury to others including [Vernon Hunter],” the affidavit states.
She is also asking the courts to withhold the autopsy report of her husband, citing severe emotional damage to her family.
Joseph Stack III made headlines when he flew his personal plane into an IRS building housing 200 employees, killing Vernon Hunter.
He had posted a message on his website speaking against the agency and claiming that he was ‘taking a stand’.
His daughter came under fire recently when she claimed her father was a hero, and that maybe now the government would “listen”.
