Limbaugh’s Vile Racism: Black Gov. Paterson ‘Gonna be a Massa’ for ‘First Time’
March 10, 2010
(ChattahBox)—-Remember back in October of last year, when Republicans lined up in droves to declare that hate talker Rush Limbaugh was not racist, and he was being unfairly treated in his bid to become minority owner of the St. Louis Rams. Despite numerous instances of race-baiting over the years, Limbaugh’s Republican supporters, including wacky right-wing Rep. Steve King (R-IA), denied that the conservative blowhard was racist. King, even grilled NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell before a House panel and demanded that he apologize for even suggesting that Limbaugh was divisive, which he declined to do.
Now, how will Limbaugh’s right-wing worshipers, spin the talk show host’s latest bit of blatant racism? During Tuesday’s radio program, Limbaugh referred to New York’s first black governor, David Paterson, as a “Massa” because he has the authority to appoint a candidate to replace former Congressman Eric Massa, who resigned on Monday. Nah, no racism here, move along folks.
Hate talk radio show host Limbaugh offensively suggested Gov. Paterson was a slave, who would soon become a master for the first time in his life, when a caller asked him about the appointment process:
“CALLER: Yeah. Hey, listen. Interesting sidebar to that Eric Massa mess for Democrats. You know, our besieged governor, David Paterson, will be charged with naming a replacement for Massa. And I’m wondering if there’s any chance — do you think that Paterson –
RUSH LIMBAUGH: Wait a minute.
CALLER: — will exact some revenge on Obama, Emanuel, Cuomo, the whole Democratic gulag, by appointing a Republican or, at the very least, a DINO — a Democrat in name only?
LIMBAUGH: Are you sure that Paterson appoints or is there a special election?
CALLER: I am reasonably sure that Paterson will be appointing the replacement, assuming that he, you know, doesn’t resign in the next 60 or 90 days.
LIMBAUGH: Let’s assume you’re right. So, David Paterson will become the massa
LIMBAUGH: — Who gets to appoint whoever gets to take Massa’s place. So, for the first time in his life, Paterson’s gonna be a massa. Interesting, interesting.”
