Republican Fundraising Mailer Comes With a Bonus: ‘Live’ and ‘Nasty’ Phone Sex

April 1, 2010

(ChattahBox)—Can Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele do anything right these days? Apparently not. This week is all about sex, sex, faux lesbian sex, bondage sex and now, live “nasty talk” phone sex. Earlier in the week we learned that an RNC staffer expensed $2,000 for a wild night of “meals” at a topless bondage-sex-themed nightclub in West Hollywood, named Voyeur. Now, a RNC fundraising mailer made to resemble a U.S. census form contained a toll-free number next to the address of Party headquarters. When the angry recipient of the mailer called the phone number to complain about the misleading and deceptive fake census letter, the voter got quite an earful, receiving the greeting “sexy guy” and an offer of “live one-on one-nasty talk with a girl who will do anything you want for just 2.99 per minute.” Wow, this “family values” Republican Party sure knows how to have a good time!

RNC Communications Director Doug Heye told Politico, “The number in question was a typographical error by a vendor used on this particular mailer — using 1-800 instead of 202.” Heye said the RNC would not use the venor in “the foreseeable future.” And he attributed the error to an “isolated incident.”

However, besides the added phone sex bonus offered in the fundraising letter, the RNC received criticism from both sides of the aisle, as well as the Census Bureau, for misleading the public, making recipients believe the mailer was a legitimate census form, at the same time our country is conducting the 2010 Census.

The Republican fake census mailer was viewed, as such a big problem, that the House just passed a bill with an unanimous vote of 416-0 to ban misleading fundraising letters disguised as 2010 Census forms.

Meanwhile, the hits keep on coming for the gaffe-prone and clownish Michael Steele, as Tony Perkins of the conservative Family Research Council urged a donor ban on donations to the RNC, in the wake of the “bondage-gate” scandal, because the Republican organization is “completely tone-deaf to [their] values.”

You can listen, if you like, to an audio tape of the phone sex line here.
