GOP AD Depicts Pelosi as ‘Power-Hungry’ 50-Foot Monster
May 11, 2010
(ChattahBox)–The political silly season is upon us, with a few tight primary elections taking place, before the November mid-term elections. And that means lots of entertaining attack ads and mudslinging. The latest political ad for your viewing pleasure comes courtesy of a conservative non-profit group, called RightChange. In the animated ad, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is depicted as an enraged gargantuan on a rampage, playing on the theme from the 50s science fiction film, “Attack of the 50-Foot Woman.”
The campaign ad supports Republican candidate Tim Burns, who is running neck and neck with Democrat Mark Critz, in a special Pennsylvania election, for the late Congressman John Murtha’s seat. Burns’ attacks on Critz have tried to link the former Murtha aide to a “government takeover” of health care engineered by Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). And the latest ad continues with the same line of attack.
The spot depicts President Obama and Reid, as mad liberal scientists flipping switches labeled healthcare, bailouts and carbon tax. And apparently all of that liberal spending transforms Pelosi into a 50-foot woman, mad with power.
The ad begins with the narrator, saying “Once Nancy Pelosi was safely confined to liberal San Francisco but Harry Reid and Barack Obama had other plans.”
Pelosi is then shown being zapped with electricity, which causes the Speaker to mushroom into an enraged “power-hungry” monster determined to “defy the will of the American people.” As the 50-foot Pelosi proceeds to stomp on buildings, cosmic rays from Burns’ campaign button and the eyes of the American people, put an end to her rampage.
Pennsylvania voters in the 12th congressional district will go to the polls on May 18.
