7-Year-Old Girl Killed By Police In Apartment Raid

May 17, 2010

Michigan (ChattahBox) – A family faced a nightmare this week when a Detroit police officer accidentally shot and killed their seven-year-old daughter in her bed during the botched attempt to find a homicide suspect.

According to police, a team released a flash bomb in the apartment while looking for the 36-year-old suspected killer of a 17-year-old boy, Jarean Blake.

While moving through the house, the officer is believed to have misfired and hit 7-year-old Aiyana Jones in her bed, striking her fatally in the neck.

they then grabbed the father (who is not a suspect in the homicide of Blake) and wrestled him face down into his daughter’s blood.

“Her blood was everywhere and I was trying to stay calm, but nobody would talk to me. None of them even tried to console me,” Charles Jones said, and it was hours before police told him that an officer had killed his daughter.

“She was just figuring out what she liked, what she wanted to do with her life. I want this story to be heard. This was a wrongful death.”

According to neighbors, they told police there were children in the house.

The officer has been put on administrative leave as an investigation is held into the matter

If an intruder breaks into your home and kills your daughter, that man is either put away for life or executed.

If that intruder is a police officer, he’s put on administrative leave.

    Welcome to America.
