Police digging for remains of Drew Peterson’s 4th wife

June 5, 2010

(ChattahBox) – Drew Peterson, an ex-cop who is currently behind bars awaiting trial on faces murder charges in the 2004 death of his wife Kathleen Savio, has had a propensity for not keeping his mouth shut in the past. Facing financial ruin from his divorce the state claims the former Illinois police officer allegedy tried to hire someone in 2003 to kill his third wife Kathleen Savio. “My life would be easier if she were just dead,” Glasgow quoted Peterson as allegedly telling a fellow police officer he saw at the courthouse before Savio’s death.  Ironically Peterson may have worried that the eminent money problems he would have divorcing Savio, could cost him his relationship with Stacy Peterson, whom he had wooed with his “financial security package,” the prosecutor said.  Stacey, 23, also later disappeared and was last seen in October 2007, but  yesterday Peterson while waiting trial in jail for the murder of wife #3, allegedly told an inmate how he killed, wife number 4.  There are some contrary reports that say Peterson did not reveal the location to an inmate, but what is clear is that police are digging in a muddy, remote wooded area east of Peoria, IL.   Peoria County Coroner Johanna Ingersoll confirmed early Saturday, “There is a search underway for human remains.” However, added Ingersoll, “No human remains have been located at this point.”
