Breaking: Obama Relieves Gen. Stanley McChrystal of His Command

June 23, 2010

(ChattahBox)–As expected after Gen. Stanley McChrystal’s hasty exit from his face-to-face meeting with his commander-in-chief this morning, Obama has made the decision to relieve the rogue general of his command, according to reports by MSNBC.

Further reports are saying that President Obama has chosen Gen. David Petraeus to replace McChrystal as the top U.S. commander for Afghanistan.

The chain of command was so compromised by Gen. McChrystal’s insulting attacks on the Obama administration’s top aides in the Rolling Stone profile, that President Obama apparently had little choice but to fire McChrystal.

President Obama is expected to make a statement momentarily from the Rose Garden announcing his decision.
