Montana GOP Platform: Outlaw Gay Sex, Abolish IRS, Birtherism

June 29, 2010

(ChattahBox)—Following in the footsteps of tea party members who authored wacky extremist Republican Party platforms in Texas and Maine, the Montana GOP is advocating the criminalizing of gay sex. And besides outlawing the gay, Republican Montanans are jumping on the birther bandwagon, promoting tenther states’ rights ideology, as well as the repeal of a federal income tax and lots and lots of guns—lots of them.

Thankfully, sodomy laws and other attempts to ban homosexual sexual behavior have been struck down as unconstitutional, but Montana tenther Republicans are not letting a little thing like the constitution to stand in the way of their bigoted homophobia:

“We support the clear will of the people of Montana expressed by legislation to keep homosexual acts illegal.”

See below for a taste of a few additional gems of the GOP Platform:

“We support the repeal of the 16th amendment of the U.S. Constitution which authorizes a national income tax.”

“We oppose any system of national registration of firearm owners and their firearms and the setting of limits on the quantities of firearms and ammunition that are owned by an individual.”

“We support the repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare.”

And the birther provision:

“We vigorously encourage passage of legislation requiring candidates for U.S. Representative, U.S. Senator, Vice President of the United States, and President of the United States provide documentation of their eligibility for the office sought as defined in the United States Constitution.”

The entire platform can be found here.
