Alaskan Couple Arrested For Islamic Hit List

July 22, 2010

Alaska (ChattahBox) – A U.S. couple have been charged with constructing and distributing a hit list containing fifteen names of people who the two believed had harmed Muslim civilians.

Paul and Nadia Rockwood were arrested after the husband created a list of 15 names, all of which matched people he said had hurt the people of Islam. His wife’s participation seems to have been covering up the list, and attempting to give it to an unnamed third-party source.

Rockwood converted to Islam in 2001, RAW reports, and quickly became a devout follower of Anwar al-Awlaki, the well known extremist cleric who has called for violent jihad against those who “threaten Islam”.

Nadia knew of her husband’s radical beliefs, but it is not known whether or not she shared them, though she does appear to have been aiding him.

The hit list has not been released, but it is believed to be a part of a wider personal conspiracy by Rockwood to commit acts of domestic terrorism, including the makings of a bomb.

Rockwood has plead guilty to charges of terrorism, and Nadia has plead guilty to lying to investigators.
