Obama Makes Video Primer for Health Care Website
July 28, 2010
(ChattahBox)—-President Obama released an explanatory video today to help Americans navigate the new health care website that provides everything you need to know about health care reform under the Affordable care Act. The informational website, HealthCare.gov allows consumers to search for available services for each state. And new reforms, such as doing away with pre-existing conditions, as a bar to purchasing health insurance, are explained.
Macon Phillips, the White House director of new media points out that the new video is just one more example of the President reaching out to Americans using social media.
“Healthcare.gov comes from the president’s track record of using online programs to put information and power in people’s hands,” said Phillips.
The White House’s goal is to empower consumers with knowledge about their new health care choices.
“President Obama explains HealthCare.gov, the new consumer website that helps you take control of your health care coverage. This first-of-its-kind website makes it easier to find health care coverage and clearly explains how the Affordable Care Act will benefit you, your family, or your business.”
