Fox News’ Doocy: The Poor Will Sell Medical Pot on Street Corners (Video)

August 6, 2010

(ChattahBox)—Steve Doocy, the always-confused co-host of Fox & Friends is very worried that poor people using medical marijuana to ease their suffering from the effects of chemotherapy, may decide instead, to linger on a street corner and sell it to make a quick buck. He was incensed by a program in Washington, DC that reduces the price of medical marijuana to make it more affordable for the poor.

Doocy says stupid and bigoted things, just about every weekday morning, but his attack on poor sick people as unsavory drug dealers is particularly egregious. He notes that DC is just filled with poor folks, so providing sick people suffering from cancer and glaucoma, with affordable medical marijuana, would lead to hordes of the poor gaming the system to get some cheap pot, and flocking to street corners to sell their medicinal stash:

DOOCY: The District of Columbia, which has a really lot of poor people, now they are apparently having a program where poor people get discounted pot because they cannot afford it. The worry is people will say yah, I’m broke and I need the pot. And they give them the pot, and they will just turn around and sell it on the street because it will be the really good stuff.”

DC’s measure to make medicinal marijuana more affordable, was enacted to prevent poor patients needing the drug from buying it illegally at a cheaper price.

Let’s assume Doofy is correct. How is it worse if chem patients are selling pot than if the usual drug dealers are?

I’m not seeing the problem here. Well, other than Doofy’s complete divorce from reality. but then he wouldn’t have been hired by Faux News if the facts were important to him.

So what if they smoke a little and sell a little.. that is a good sign they do not need so many meds while still making some money on the side. Idiots on FOX, I wish they would all die.
