Fox News’ Carlson: ‘Frightening’ That Jon Stewart Considered ‘Real News’ (Video)
September 23, 2010
(ChattahBox Political News)—The Fox & Friends crew discussed Jon Stewart’s appearance on Bill O’Reilly last night with their usual muddled insight. Gretchen Carlson, without displaying a bit of irony, was just shocked that some viewers considered Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show, aired on Comedy Central a “real” news show. Funny— many people are also puzzled by the fact that Fox News is considered a real news network, rather than the GOP propaganda political operation that it really is.
Jon Stewart appeared on Bill O’Reilly’s the Factor to promote his new book, “Earth (The Book): A Visitor’s Guide to the Human Race.” They bantered back and forth, with O’Reilly asking Stewart if he was suffering from “Obama remorse.”
Stewart responded that he didn’t regret voting for Barack Obama, but he was disappointed in President Obama’s lack of vision.
Obama has been acting more as a “functionary” in office, said Stewart.
Gretchen Carlson wasn’t impressed with the O’Reilly-Stewart discussion, saying Stewart “…didn’t really answer any of the political questions that went his way, just for the record. He danced, he danced around a lot.”
When co-host Steve Doocy noted that Stewart was a comedian, Carlson said it was scary and “frightening” that viewers took Stewart seriously.
CARLSON: Well the problem is, a lot of people consider him to be real news, which is frightening.
