O’Donnell: Evolution a ‘Myth’ Because Monkeys Aren’t Human Yet (Video)
September 25, 2010
(ChattahBox Political News)— Christine O’Donnell’s campaign for the U.S. Senate is slowly, but surely, imploding. Like a death by a thousand cuts, embarrassing videos from prior TV appearances continue to surface. And dozens more are yet to be revealed. Yesterday, a clip from 2003 was discovered, wherein O’Donnell boasted about being a “chaste” woman in her thirties who expected America to just stop having sex. And let’s not forget, the mice army having “fully functioning human brains.” And her claim that she “dabbled into witchcraft” and attended a “midnight picnic on a satanic altar.” After airing the “witchcraft” episode last week, Bill Maher on his HBO show “Real Time,” told his audience O’Donnell made 22 appearances on his old show “Politically Incorrect” and he planned to release one clip each week, until O’Donnell appeared on his show. True to his word, last night Maher entertained his viewers with a clip of O’Donnell declaring that evolution was a “myth.” And to prove her point, she pointed out that we can’t see monkeys evolving into humans before our eyes.
O’DONNELL: You know what, evolution is a myth. And even Darwin himself…
MAHER: Evolution is a myth?!? Have you ever looked at a monkey!
O’DONNELL: Well then, why they — why aren’t monkeys still evolving into humans?
Many fundamentalist Christians reject science and refuse to accept the theory of evolution. But O’Donnell, as usual, takes extreme to a whole new level.
Maher reminded his viewers that Republican voters in Delaware chose this right-wing radical woman, backed by the tea party and Sarah Palin, as their nominee for the U.S. Senate.
MAHER: “See, this is the point I want to make — is the stuff from the witch from last week was silly. Who cares what she did in high school, if she dabbled in witchcraft. But this is someone who could be in the Senate, who thinks that mice have human brains and doesn’t understand ‘oh my God, that monkeys don’t evolve in the time that it would take to watch them.’”
Besides her extremist wacky views, O’Donnell has also been accused of misusing campaign funds to pay personal expenses. A perennial candidate, she has not held down a job in nearly five-years.
The latest poll shows her Democratic opponent Chris Coons, leading by 17 points, 55 to 39.
