Fourth Teen Arrested in Alleged Gay Bus Beating
October 15, 2010
New York (ChattahBox Crime News) – A fourth teenager has been arrested in a vicious beating against a student, who the four claimed was a homosexual.
Previously, 16-year-old’s Chase Morrison and Roy Wilson, and 18-year-old David Spencer were taken into custody for the senseless crime. They have been accused of beating an unnamed 14-year-old boy on a school bus after weeks of verbal harassment. The reason? The other boys thought that he was gay.
Today, a fourth boy, also age 14, was charged with a hate crime.
The incident is the latest to show the way that hatred has once again reached a boiling point, as the politically charged environment on such issues as homosexuality continues.
Attacks like this, and especially verbal attacks, are actually very common in America today. A quick search around the net, or a look at gay rights group websites, will give many examples. If you speak to a GLBT teen you will hear dozens of stories about the bullying they have encountered, most verbal and emotional, and some physical.
It is a shame that it takes something as extreme as four youths openly beating a young teen boy on a school bus to bring this into the media’s focus.
