Fox News Snatches Up Juan Williams After His Firing Over Bigoted Comments

October 22, 2010

(ChattahBox Political News) — Ousted National Public Radio news analyst Juan Williams didn’t have to join the ranks of unemployment for very long.  Just one day after NPR fired Williams for making bigoted remarks about Muslims, Fox News announced that Williams would be joining their ranks, Politico reports.

On Wednesday, NPR terminated Williams’ contract over comments that he made as a contributor on Fox’s “O’Reilly Factor” in which Williams said he gets nervous if he’s on the same airplane as Muslims. Clearly nonplused about the controversial remarks, Fox News not only hired Williams, but offered him a $2 million, three-year contract on Thursday. In addition to appearances on Fox News, Williams will also write a column on the accompanying Web site, FoxNews.com, Politico reports.
