Christine O’Donnell Threatened to ‘Crush’ Radio Station
October 27, 2010
(ChattahBox Political News)—Yet another example of a thuggish not ready for prime time tea party campaign. Christine O’Donnell, together with her campaign manager, threatened to “crush” a local radio station with a lawsuit if they didn’t get their way. Apparently after giving a bad interview on WDEL’s “The Rick Jensen Show,” she didn’t want the video released and threatened the host with a lawsuit if the video was posted and not immediately turned over to her campaign.
O’Donnell’s campaign manager, Matt Moran later telephoned the station to make his tough talk “crush” threats.
But when O’Donnell’s attorney contacted WDEL’s law firm and was informed that O’Donnell didn’t have a legal leg to stand on, O’Donnell backed down and apologized.
What O’Donnell hoped to accomplish with this bizarre episode is hard to figure out, because the video, as well as the audio was streamed live.
“At the conclusion of the interview, a representative from the campaign who had been in the broadcast studio with O’Donnell asked that the video be turned over to the campaign and not released. He stated that the videotaping had not been approved by the O’Donnell campaign.”
“O’Donnell also told show host Rick Jensen that she would sue the radio station if the video was released.” [...]
“O’Donnell’s campaign manager, Matt Moran, called WDEL and demanded that the video be immediately turned over to the campaign and destroyed. Moran threatened to “crush WDEL” with a lawsuit if the station didn’t comply.”
What was on the video that O’Donnell wanted to cover up? When she was asked some tough policy questions that she was unable to answer, she snapped her fingers commanding her aide to her side. The staffer then proceeded to throw the occasional glare in the the radio host’s direction, while he took O’Donnell off mike for whispered consultations.
At this stage in the game, with O’Donnell’s anti-masturbation advocacy, witchcraft dabbling, her rejection of science and inability to name a single currently-serving Democratic Senator or a Supreme Court case she disagrees with besides Roe v. Wade, the fact that she came off as imperious and uninformed in a local radio interview is the least of her problems.
