Aqua Buddha Rand Paul Projected Winner in Kentucky

November 2, 2010

(ChattahBox Political News)—Teapartier Rand Paul is the projected winner in the Kentucky senatorial race. Paul swept past his Democratic opponent state attorney general Jack Conway by a 10-point margin. Paul is taking over the seat being vacated by retiring Republican Sen. Jim Bunning.

The vitriolic senatorial race was tightening in recent weeks, but the so-called Aqua Buddha attack ad released by Conway backfired and gave Paul some momentum when the teapartier libertarian successfully cast the ad as an attack on his religion.

Meanwhile, in Indiana, the Republicans won their first GOP senatorial pickup with former Senator and current corporate lobbyist Dan Coats cruising to victory over Democratic opponent Rep. Brad Ellsworth. Coats will take over the seat held by retiring Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh.

It’s going to be a long night. More results to come.
