Hilary Clinton Won’t Run for President in 2012 or 2016

November 5, 2010

(ChattahBox U.S. News) – Democratic losses last week have led some party members to point to Hilary Clinton as a potential new presidential candidate, but Clinton is not interested. Telling interviewers in New Zealand that although she hopes the U.S. is ready for a female president, she has ruled out running for the position through 2016, Reuters reports.

“I’m very pleased to be doing what I’m doing as secretary of state,” Clinton told an interviewer while on a visit to New Zealand this week as part of an almost two-week Asia-Pacific tour.

When asked whether the U.S. was ready for a female president, Clinton answered, “It should be,” but added, “Not me,” Reuters notes.
