Palin’s Hate: Bushes ‘Blue-Bloods,’ Michelle Obama Has ‘Appalling’ ‘Worldview’
November 25, 2010
(ChattahBox Political News)—Well, Sarah Palin opened her mouth and as usual, out spewed a word salad jumble of hate mixed with nonsense. Appearing on Laura Ingraham’s right-wing radio show on Wednesday, Palin shot back at the elder Bushes as “blue bloods” and she, once again, attacked our First lady Michelle Obama for having a “different worldview.” Palin’s swipe at Barbara Bush as an elitist was certainly predictable, after Mrs. Bush took a jab at the former half-term governor saying Palin should do us all a favor, by staying in Alaska. But her attacks on Michelle Obama are unbecoming, despicable and mean-girl nasty.
Conservative radio host and frequent Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham set up her interview with Palin by playing the earlier disparaging remarks made by the Bushes, as well as New Jersey governor Chris Christie, asking “Why are they all trying to kneecap you? You haven’t even said you’re running yet.
Palin responded with her predictable anti-establishment “blue blood” dis, while rambling on about the Republican establishment’s campaign to kill competition and “shoot internally,” adding “that’s the way they roll.”
Palin continued, “I don’t want to sort of concede that we have to get used to this kind of thing, because I think the majority of Americans don’t want to put up with the blue-bloods — and I say it with all due respect, because I love the Bushes — but the blue bloods who want to pick and chose their winners instead of allowing competition to pick and choose the winners.”
Ingraham then asked Palin to respond to criticism she received for attacking Michelle Obama in her new book, asking “What do you think about Michelle Obama?—her injection of herself into policy especially.”
Palin wasted no time attacking our First Lady as un-American, by deliberately mischaracterizing an off-hand comment made during the presidential campaign two-years ago. And Palin inexplicably attacked Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign to combat the growing problem of childhood obesity. In Palin’s worldview, Mrs. Obama is being a socialist, by staging a government takeover of our dinner menus.
PALIN: She’s got a different worldview, and she’s not hesitant at all to share what her world view is. And I’ll take heat for saying it on your show Laura, but she encapsulated what her view of America is I believe, unless she has evolved and things have changed in the last two-years. But, she said it on the campaign trail twice that it was the first time she was proud of country, when finally people were paying attention to Barack Obama. And uh, you know I think that’s appalling. We can think of, you know, these infinite number of reasons to be proud of our exceptionalism, and it baffles me that anybody would have that view and then allow that view to bleed over into policy.
“Take her anti-obesity thing that she’s on. She’s on this kick right? What she’s telling us is she cannot trust parents to make decisions for their children, for our own families what we should eat. And I know I’m going to be again criticized for bringing this up. But instead of a government thinking that they need to take over, make decisions for us, according to some politician or politician’s wife’s priority, just leave us alone, get off our back, and allow us as individuals to exercise our own God-given rights to make our own decisions, and then our country gets back on the right track.”
CNN’s Roland Martin dealt with Palin’s ludicrous attack on the First Lady’s childhood obesity program as a government takeover.
“Hmmm. “Let’s Move” is Obama’s “kick?” Maybe someone should kick Sarah Palin so she can understand how devastating obesity is to the future of the United States.”
Martin also points out that the problem of childhood obesity is so grave, it has become a national security issue, with a study finding that “27 percent of 18- to 24-year-olds are too fat to join the military.”
“This latest broadside by Palin shows how reckless and ridiculous she is,” continues Martin.
“Libertarians and far right conservative Republicans are always talking about government intrusion into our lives, but when we look at clean water, air quality and food supply, thank God for governmental standards.”
Martin concludes his piece with a plea for Palin to spare us from her hateful nonsense.
“Sarah, for the benefit of the nation, stick a fork in it.”
