Serial Killer Suspected After Four Women’s Bodies Found on N.Y. Beach
December 16, 2010
(ChattahBox U.S. News)—Investigators are on the hunt for what they believe is a serial killer responsible for the deaths of four women whose bodies were found on a Long Island beach, Reuters reports. One of the women is believed to be a 22-year-old prostitute who advertised on Craigslist, and the FBI has joined the investigation to find the killer as police attempt to identify all four bodies.
Law enforcement officials have theorized that one person is responsible for all four murders, and that the killer then dumped the bodies on the beach 40 miles outside of Manhattan, Reuters reports.
Authorities are trying to determine whether the same killer may be responsible for other unsolved cases in different states, Reuters notes. The bodies of four prostitutes were found in Atlantic City, N.J. in 2006, and investigators are working to find out whether any links exist between the cases.
