Red Ribbon Awards Given Out At Interntional AIDS Conference

Washington (ChattahBox) - The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) handed out Red Ribbon awards to five organizations at the International AIDS Conference for their incredible work being done in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The awards were presented by the UNDP regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Rebecca Grynspan
The organizations come from countries including Malawi, Mexico, Ghana, India, as well as Iran. The names of the organizations are the Mashhad Positive Club, Fortaleciendo la Diversidad, Consol Homes, Center for Popular Education and Human Rights, and Women’s Sanghamitra Collective.
They all received $20,000 on top of their Red Ribbon awards at the 17th International AIDS Conference, which ends today in Mexico City.
This is the second time the Red Ribbon awards were handed out, as the last time was in 2006 at the 16th International AIDS Conference in Canada.
The 17th Interntional AIDS Conference runs through Friday, and continues the push to fight HIV/AIDS, with improved prevention, treatment, and a a push for an HIV vaccine
