Russia, Georgia Square Off In Some Cyber Warfare
August 13, 2008
Moscow (ChattahBox) - Cyber warfare may be the best way to now describe the conflict between Russia and Georgia, as Georgia was hit this week by a major attack via the Internet.
Hackers from Russia were able to take down several government Web sites, taking control of much of the Internet in Georgia.
The hackers were able to gain full control, keeping Georgia from sharing information, being able to access news sites, etc.
This comes under a week after the start of the major conflict between Russia and Georgia.
Georgia President Mikheil Saakashvili had his Web site was hit, with his pictures replaced by pictures of Hitler.
The government of Georgia has been forced to change hosts to the U.S.
The belief is that the Russia’s government was behind the attacks.
