Russians May Not Be Responsible For Cyber Attack Against Georgia
August 14, 2008
Washington (ChattahBox) - Security researchers have come out and stated that Russia may not have been responsible for the cyber attack carried out against the government of Georgia.
Just a week ago, Russia began their military assault against Georgia, which seemed to be carried over into a cyber attack this past week.
Hackers were able to go after government Web sites, defacing the site of President Mikheil Saakashvili with pictures of Hitler.
These sites, including Georgia news sites, were defaced, or completely taken down.
Since then, the Georgian Foreign Ministry accused the government of Russia for being behind the attacks, but this may not have been the case.
Security researchers have made it clear it is still too early to find the exact source.
