India Launches Into The Space Race With Moon Mission

Washington (ChattahBox) - India has launched their way into the space race with their first mission to the moon.
India is now right in the middle of the international space race after they successfully launched their first moon mission.
Today, they successfully launched the unmanned lunar orbiter the Chandrayaan-1.
They launched the spacecraft at 6:20 a.m. from the Sriharikota space center in India.
The two-year mission is going to have the craft taking images on the surface of the moon.
The hope is that they will be able to map out the moon landscape, and also identify minerals, etc.
All of the data is going to be shared with the world, including NASA.
The mission price tage is said to be around $80 million.
