Israel Moves Troops Into Gaza

January 3, 2009

Israel (ChattahBox) – Reports have just been received that Israel has officially begun moving troops into Gaza.

Witnesses said tanks and armored vehicles began collecting against the borders of Beit Lahiya, a small town on the outskirts of the Gaza Strip, earlier this morning, attacking the territory, before heading over the borderline.

So far only 13 are being labeled as dead, but there are believed to be more uncounted casualties. First phase of this mission seems intended on clearing agricultural areas where Hamas has been launching missiles.  The big question is will Israeli trips stop there, or go into urban areas, which favor the insurgents and would lead to more casualties and civilian deaths.
