75-Year-Old Woman Sentenced To 40 Lashes

March 10, 2009

Saudi Arabia (ChattahBox) – A 75-year-old Saudi woman has been sentences to 40 lashes after she allowed two men who were not in her immediate family to come into her home.

Khamisa Mohammed Sawadi was sentenced by the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, a religious watch group, to be whipped for allowing the men to stay in her home.

The sentence has been one of many that have caused outrage, as the religious police continue to condemn people for ‘crimes against Islam’.

“It’s made everybody angry because this is like a grandmother,” Wajeha Huwaider, an activist for Saudi women’s right, said in an interview with CNN.

“Forty lashes — how can she handle that pain? You cannot justify it.”

The Saudi daily newspaper al-Watan said Sawadi has appealed her sentence.

To be totally honest with all that will read this I am apalled at the thought of some one thinking that it is a right thing before God to do something so pathetic and unreasonible to such an elderly person. It should have every person out there outraged and willing to put a stop to this hipocracy once and for all. We must join together and stand against this evil.
First we must pray in the name of Jesus the Christ and then acknowledge our own sin before Him and our need to surrender all our personal desires to Him . Next we must really mean it enough to spend time on our knees before Him asking for His mercy. Finally, we must open our Bibles with prayer and belief that He is who He says that He is and that He will reward us for our efforts.
I know that this works , because He has been confirminfg it with signs following. I was spending time this morning and I thought within my heart that I need to actually believe that I can and that I needed God to replace the I can’t with I can. I also thought of Philipians 4 and at the same time I went to my Bible and read in verse 19 that He can and will supply all my needs in Christ Jesus according to His riches in glory. I initialy had thought though I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I turned on the radio to Dr. Charles Stanley’s sermon on the power of persistance and was emediately aware that God had just both afirmed and confirmed that I was on the right trac and that He was telling me so. So I went to my knees and thanked Him for His great strength and mercy and I just can’t say enough about praying in true faith that comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. This is told to us by Christ himself. Let’s do all He says.
