More Than Half In Israel Support Iran Strike, Study Shows

May 25, 2009

Tel Aviv (ChattahBox) – An increasing number of Israeli’s are beginning to favor a military strike against Iran and their nuclear facilities, a new poll by Tel Aviv University shows.

Of those asked, the pole found that on average 51% believe that a military strike is the best coarse of action, with only 49% supporting a ‘wait and see’ policy as the US moves to increase diplomatic relations with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Meanwhile, when polled only 26% believed that the US’s efforts to use diplomacy would be effective in keeping nuclear weapons from Iran.

The study seems to support information released early this year, that showed that Israel had requested that the US assist in a strike against Iran, a move that former President Bush refused.

President Obama has said that he will ‘sit at the table’ with Ahmadinejad, to hopefully further US/Iran relations, and come to a peaceful agreement before a war breaks out.
