Murder Case Solved By DNA After Almost 25-Years

September 8, 2009

UK (ChattahBox) – British police have solved the 24-year past murder of a nine-year-old boy.

Imraan Ismail Vohra was taken after school in 1985. A missing person’s report was filed, but it wasn’t until the next day his body was found. He had been raped, strangled, and dumped in a local park.

His case has remained open for years until this week, when police were able to identify Robert David Morley based on DNA that had been found at the scene.

Unfortunately, Morley will not be tried. He died in 1997, having gotten away with this, and likely other, murders.

However, the family of little Imraan are grateful.

“We would like to pass on our gratitude and thanks to the police for all their efforts and persistence over the years and thank the community for their help and cooperation with the police investigation,” he was quoted by Sky News.

“As a family we would have liked to have seen justice in the courts, but justice will be done here after.”

Police are looking for anyone who knew Morley around 1985.
