Scientology Convicted Of Fraud In French Courts

October 27, 2009

France (ChattahBox) – The Church of Scientology has been convicted of fraud, after two plaintiff’s claimed that the organization, labeled a sect in France, defrauded them.

According to the complaint, the church used a device to monitor their spirituality. When the meter came up short, the plaintiffs were advised to buy various books and vitamins to help them, amounting to fraud.

This is a common practice in the so-called ‘church’, which has caused quite a bit of controversy, and has been accused of being a cult.

The defendants, which included six members of the organization, were ordered to pay up to $595,000 a piece, and the details of the conviction and case will be published in several International magazines.

However, they are still to be allowed to practice in France, as long as they “remain on the side of the law”.
