Afghanistan CIA bomber who pretended to be spy shown vowing revenge (Video)

(ChattahBox) – The Jordanian jihadist doctor suspected of blowing himself up along with a Jordanian intelligence officer and seven CIA employees announces in a newly released video why he did it: to avenge the death of a Taliban leader killed by a US drone attack in August. The footage released by the Pakistani branch of the Taliban was broadcast on al-Jazeera TV, and shows bomber Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi vowing that Pakistani Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud must be avenged “inside and outside America”.
The video below appears to show Al-Balawi next to Mehsud’s successor, Hakimullah Mehsud, although he is not named in the footage. Al-Balawi is said to have been a Jordanian doctor turned double agent, having originally been recruited by the Jordanians to spy on al-Qaeda. During his three days in jail, Jordanian agents believed they were able to sway him away from the Islamist cause, and afterward he provided what they thought was high-quality information, that likely only concerned “lower-ranking” Al-Qaeda operatives to convince his handlers. NBC News, says that Al-Balawi asked for a meeting with his CIA handlers because he claimed to have information about Al-Zawahiri himself. And the eager CIA even flew in its second highest ranking officer in for the meeting, in which Al-Balawi wasn’t subjected to any serious security check before gaining access and blowing himself up.
During the minute-and-a-half video, Al-Balawi, wearing traditional Afghan dress, spoke in Arabic and appears to dismiss the idea he himself was in the service of the Jordanians or US, saying that a Muslim jihadist “will not sell his religion”. He also said:
“We will never forget the blood of our emir Baitullah Mehsoud, We will always demand revenge for him inside America and outside,” he said, addressing the “enemies of God” and Jordanian intelligence. “It is an obligation of the emigrants who were welcomed by the emir.”
