Tape From Osama Bin Laden Praises Underwear Bomber as ‘Hero Fighter’
January 24, 2010
(ChattahBox)—The world has not heard from al-Qaeda leader and 9/11 plotter Osama bin Laden in seven-months, but on Sunday the mass murderer released a tape claiming responsibility for the foiled Christmas-day bombing on an airliner bound for Detroit. The audio tape was posted on the Arabic-language news Web site Al-Jazeera and bin Laden praises the so-called underwear bomber, as a “hero fighter.”
According to a report by CNN, the news organization was unable to “independently confirm the authenticity” of the tape, but noted that the CIA has previously authenticated the tapes released from bin Laden. The tape warns that al-Qaida will continue with its terrorist attacks against the West, as long as support is given to Israel:
“[T]he United States will not dream of enjoying safety until we live it in reality in Palestine,” declares bin laden. “It is not fair to enjoy that kind of life while our brothers in Gaza live in the worst of miseries,” he says.
The tape continues: “God willing our attacks will continue as long as you support the Israelis and may peace be on those who follow guidance.”
The al-Qaida leader then claims responsibility for the thwarted Christmas-day bombing, declaring it was a message to the West, just like the terrorists attacks of 9/11:
“The message intended to be sent to you was through the hero fighter Omar Farouq, may God release him, confirming an earlier message that the [September] 11th heroes delivered to you and it was repeated before and after [that event],” says bin Laden.
The Nigerian would-be bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has been charged for the attempted bombing in federal court and awaits trial.
