“The death toll has gone up to 16, including two paramilitary soldiers,” government official, Iqbal Khattak, said.
He also said that they believe the bomber was on his way up to government buildings before being stopped by soldiers, leading tot he detonation in the market.
Despite an assurance by the Pakistan military that insurgents had been eradicated in the region, the Bajaur providence is troubled and often victimized with violent attacks.
Four buildings and several vehicles were also destroyed in the attack.
The Bajaur region is well known for al-Qaeda presence, and is believe to be the hiding place of Osama Bin Laden, and other high ranking officials in the militant terrorist group.
