Afghan Soldiers Killed By German Troops
April 3, 2010
The six soldiers, five of which have been confirmed dead and one believed he may be as well, were reportedly driving in two unmarked cars towards German troops in the Kunduz region.
The Germans attempted to stop the vehicles, reportedly using “several different methods” before firing on the vehicles that continued to come forward.
An earlier attack by insurgents had already led to the deaths of three German soldiers in the area.
The deaths have led to a joint investigation between Nato and Afghan security forces, who are trying to find out the exact chain of events.
It is not clear why it was that the vehicles continued to drive forward after several warnings to stop, nor why they were in unmarked vehicles.
