(ChattahBox)— Three suicide bombers driving cars in the embassy district of Baghdad, exploded their deadly loads, one after another early Sunday morning, awakening residents to a fresh new wave of terror. Residents of the capital living near the foreign embassies attributed the bombings to the unrest over the recent close elections for Prime Minister, pitting rival sects; the Shiites and the Sunnis in a contentious battle for control.
Two of the Easter Sunday bombings exploded in the Mansour neighborhood and another occurred in the central Baghad, according to CNN’s report:
“The blasts went off within five minutes of one another, all near embassy buildings in the capital. Two of the explosions occurred in the Mansour neighborhood in western Baghdad. One blast was close to the Egyptian Embassy, the other near a complex that holds a number of embassies, including those of Syria and Germany, and the residential complex of the Albanian ambassador. The third car bomb exploded near the Iranian Embassy in the central part of the city.”
Another suicide bomber was arrested before exploding his car near police headquarters in the al-Massbah neighborhood.
And across the country on Sunday, other terrorists attacks took place in Mosul, killing three people and wounding 35. Two additional roadside bombs also exploded in Baghdad injuring more than a dozen civilians.
