Car Bomb Goes Off Near N. Ireland Military Base

April 11, 2010

Northern Ireland (ChattahBox) – A car bomb has exploded near an army base in the Holywood, County Down region of Northern Ireland, causing many homes to be evacuated out of fear of further explosions.

The explosion occurred just after midnight, and police believe it was timed as a message related to the exact moment that the justice powers in the country devolved.

The vote, which occurred in March, had many dissenters who disagreed with the timing of the devolution from Westminster to Stormont.

No injuries have been reported.
