Two Al Qaeda Leaders Killed In Iraq During Joint Iraqi-US Military Operations

April 19, 2010

Iraq (ChattahBox) – Two top al Qaeda figures have been killed in Iraq during military operations by the local and U.S. military, officials report.

Abu Omar al-Baghdadi and Abu Ayyub al-Masri, two leading insurgents in the terrorist organization, were killed when the two military forces rocketed a house they were known to be hiding in.

Nouri al-Maliki shows pictures of the two bodies, but the identification has not yet been verified.

Some have shown skepticism over this claim, as the Iraqi government has stated that they have caught al-Baghdadi many time in the past, claims that were then proven false with identification of the insurgents they held.

However, if the second body proves to be al-Masri, then the likelihood will increase that the identification is this time correct.
