Khalid Khawaja was one of three men to be taken by a group calling themselves the Asian Tigers.

Officials in Pakistan believe that the Asian Tigers are a front group for the Taliban, who control much of the Waziristan tribal region, where Khawaja’s body was found.

According to reports, a video was found after he was kidnapped that showed him admitting to being an informant and spy for the U.S. and the CIA.
