Game Addict Couple Jailed For Two Years In Starvation Death Of Daughter

May 29, 2010

S. Korea (ChattahBox) – A couple who were charged in the neglectful death of their infant daughter, who starved to death as they took care of a virtual daughter in an online game, have been sentenced to two years in jail.

Prius Online became the only thing that mattered for the Kim couple, and while they played at an Internet cafe, their child sat alone and unfed.

They would only feed her once a day, and it wasn’t long before 3-month-old little girl passed away.

The 25-year-old mother is pregnant with another child now, and her jail sentence has been suspended.

“The defendants should have looked after their underweight and premature baby but they got addicted to a computer game, didn’t feed her well and they even hit her,” Judge Yu Sang-jae said of the case.

“This is an inhumane and immoral crime that can’t be forgiven for any reason.”
