Convicted Mobster Comes Forward With Claims That Amanda Knox Is Innocent
June 9, 2010
Italy (ChattahBox) – A man has come forward saying that the three people convicted in the murder of Meredith Kercher (shown), who was killed in Italy in 2007, are innocent. He claims it was his brother who slaughtered her.
Luciano Aviello, a 41-year-old convicted mobster with the Camorra family, says that his brother Antonio broke into the house, assaulted and then killed Kercher, and came to him for help hiding the evidence.
He says that he buried the knife and the keys to the house behind his own home.
What makes this story compelling is the fact that police never found the house keys.
However, the character of the witness will likely come into question.
Aviello is a Mafia informant who is currently spending 17 years in prison for various crimes, some violent.
But he claims he wrote the courts three times during the trial, and was ignored.
Now, Amanda Knox’s legal team will be using a video of his testimony for her appeal.
If successful, the same testimony will likely be used for Raffaele Sollecito (Amanda’s former boyfriend) and Rudy Guede (a drifter and friend of the housemates).
