U.S. Man Foiled in Godly Mission ‘to Decapitate Osama bin Laden’
June 15, 2010
(ChattahBox)—Hey, why not let the guy give it a shot? He’s on a mission from God and all, and it’s not like U.S. authorities have been successful in capturing the notorious 9/11 terrorist Osama bin Laden. But the sight of a lone American wandering in the mountains along the Afghan-Pakistan border, armed with a pistol and a 40-inch sword, sporting night vision goggles was too weird, even for the Pakistani police. Gary Brooks Faulkner, 52, a construction worker from California was arrested Tuesday, as he attempted to cross the border into Afghanistan from Chitral. When asked what he was up to, Faulkner said he was on a mission “to decapitate Osama bin Laden.” And how did he think he would succeed in slicing off the head of the world’s most wanted criminal? “God is with me, and I am confident I will be successful in killing him,” Faulkner told the astounded Pakistani police.
According to various reports, Faulkner arrived in the Chitral district of Pakistan, a tourist area for wilderness adventurers, on June 2, to begin his search for Osama bin Laden. The California construction worker has apparently been on the hunt for Osama, since the 9/11 terrorist attacks and has traveled to Pakistan seven times, before his latest vigilante episode. For the safety of foreign travelers in the region, Pakistani authorities provide visitors with a police guard. But on Sunday night, Faulkner eluded his guard and prepared for his decapitation mission, carrying a book of Christian verses to feed his soul for the perilous journey ahead:
“He told the investigating officer he was going to Afghanistan to get Osama. At first we thought he was mentally deranged,” said Muhammad Jaffar Khan, the Chitral police chief.
“But when police realized he was carrying a loaded pistol, a 40in sword and night-vision goggles, Khan said, “we realized he was serious.”‘
Faulkner, also proved his seriousness of purpose, when he threatened to shoot the police officers. “He initially resisted arrest, threatening to fire on police, and later told interrogators he was going to Nuristan “to decapitate Osama bin Laden”, Dawn newspaper reported.”
The foiled Osama bin Laden hitman has been taken to Peshawar for questioning.
