Vatican Prosecutor Tells Suspects They Are Going To Hell

June 28, 2010

Rome (ChattahBox) – A prosecutor within the Vatican, who has been leading the fight against pedophiles in the Church, has told gathered priests that they will suffer “more terrible damnation”  if they have abused children, SF Gate reported.

Rev. Charles Scicluna made references to the scripture in his speech during a prayer gathering, where assembled priests, students, and church members came to pray for the children victimized by pedophiles in the priesthood, as well as for the offenders, so that they might feel the need to come forward with their crimes.

In the sermon, Scicluna claimed that it would be better that the men and women involved in the abuse face the death penalty as a secular punishment, than the torment they will face for eternity in Hell.

Many seminary students from around the world held their own prayer gatherings, in response to the attitude of the Vatican, and of the Pope himself, on the issue of child abuse, and the Church’s role in covering it up.

There is yet to be a statement taking responsibilities for these injustices, and other sources have been commonly blamed for the massive problem of pedophilia in the Catholic priesthood.
